Big Fun For All

Posted on

Big Fun is turning two. The indie music festival, which runs January 24 to 27, is gearing up to rock away the cold snap with 29 local and touring acts. Like its augural event last year, Big Fun focuses on showcasing a variety of music genres and art in downtown Winnipeg galleries, warehouses, churches, and clubs. Music fans venue-hop as multiple concerts are presented each night throughout the city.

This year's diverse lineup features pop/rock duo Cannon Bros., roots songstress’ Jenny Berkel and Claire Morrison, indie folk ensemble Yes We Mystic, pop/rock dance outfit Phlegm Fatale, and indie rock acts The Liptonians, A Waste Odyssey, Salinas, and The Bokononists. Audiences can also catch sets from rapper Pip Skid, DJ Co-Op, and DJ Hunnicutt.

A slew of other Manitobans take the stage throughout the festival alongside visiting artists from Edmonton and Saskatoon. Click here to see the full line up.

Big Fun Productions, which takes its name from the fictional band in the ‘89 cult hit film, Heathers, also promote and organize concerts throughout the year.
