Manitoba Music will be heating things up at The Forks this year with a diverse lineup of all local talent on three stages. Performing for an audience of thousands who gather at The Forks to celebrate our nation’s birthday, Manitoba Live will feature stellar sets from over a dozen acts spanning just about every genre, culminating in a remarkable onstage collaboration between award-winning alt-country singer/songwriter Del Barber and the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra. Presented by Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries, the family-friendly event is part of the Year of Music celebration in Manitoba.

The main event at the Scotiabank Stage kicks off with indie folk/pop outfit Yes We Mystic at 4 p.m. followed by sets from rockers The Perms, the synth-streaked pop act Indicator Indicator, sweet country music quartet Oh My Darling, and indie pop/rock band Federal Lights, as well as the turntable talents of DJ Mama Cutsworth. The Royal Winnipeg Ballet will join the WSO on stage before Del Barber and the WSO joining forces in the lead-up to a captivating fireworks display.

The bustling hub at Under the Canopy will feature yet more exciting and diverse local acts including Francophone singer/songwriter Pierre Freynet, breakbeat and bass DJ Kasm, Brazilian jazz guitarist Marco Castillo, new wave trio Hana Lu Lu, indie rock outfit Les Jupes, and powerhouse pop band BB-Gun.

The historic Rail Bridge will host intimate performances in a stunning waterside setting, including singer/songwriter Renée Lamoureux, pop songstress Sc Mira, alt-country artist Kevin Roy, haunting indie folk trio Eagle Lake Owls, and the Bluegrass-tinged sounds of Jess Reimer. In the spirit of The Forks’ Target Zero campaign, this year’s stage will be powered by a specially-designed bicycle generator.

The Forks hosts the city's biggest birthday party on Canada Day. Aside from the three incredible musical stages there will also be Big Games, the Founding Nations Tribal Village, Parks Canada's free activities, special themed activities at the Children’s Museum, and a Public Market.
