Winnipeg's largest downtown music festival is about to bring the summer. Featuring nearly 100 performers taking over various city stages, the 28th annual TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival draws thousands of concert goers, the live music spans just about every genre, from jazz standards to R&B, roots and blues to indie rock and electronic pop, latin jazz, and just about everything in between.

This year's fest boasts over 40 Manitoba acts in the clubs and theatres and on the outdoor stage. Jazz Fest kicks things off in the heart of the Exchange District with a free opening weekend at Old Market Square, June 15-18. The Cube will feature a diverse line-up spanning the genres from jazz standards to hip hop, indie pop to Dixieland, and so very much more.

The opening weekend local roster includes roots pop outfit Sweet Alibi, Brasilian guitarist Marco Castillo's tribute to Hermeto Pascoal, dynamic Mexican trad prog rock outfit The Mariachi Ghost, New Orleans style funk and soul act Dirty Catfish Brass Band, pop rockers FINN, electro-R&B trio ATLAAS, fiery alt rock act Sc Mira, indie pop/rock act Boniface, teenage pop singer/songwriter Faouzia, the dance rock rhythms of Attica Riots, trumpeter Chuck Copenace, soul rock dynamos The Noble Thiefs. jazz hip hop act Super Duty Tough Work, VIKINGS, and more.
