Americana Country Indigenous Singer/songwriter
Brandi Vezina is a Winnipeg singer/songwriter whose outlaw roots are intertwined with classic country and rock. She is a natural born performer from a musical Red River Metis family who puts on a lively show. Her biggest inspirations include Johnny Cash, The Rolling Stones and Miranda Lambert.
“Dodged a Bullet” features a feisty Brandi Vezina and she’s not pulling any punches. Her Red River Metis Grandmother Marcella Vezina adds her vocals. Brandi says, “It was important to have my Granny on this track because her prayers helped me get out of a bad situation.” Vezina wrote this song with Liz Christensen and Sarah Elliot.
“It was important to have my Granny on this track because her prayers helped me get out of a bad situation,” Brandi says, explaining that Marcella is no stranger to the music world. “She recorded two singles, "Welcome Home Honey & "Tennessee Song", in 1974 and has released several albums with the Why Knott Band, so I knew she'd be comfortable in the studio.”
“(Producer) Murray (Pulver), my Grandparents, and I sang some songs together before recording and it felt like being home around the kitchen table.” Brandi explains.
“Gasoline” is a sultry single from Brandi Vezina that’s all about on-again off-again relationships. Vezina says, “If you’ve been in a relationship that you knew was no good for you, you get how hard it is to leave when the connection is intense.” CCMA award winning producer, Murray Pulver is joined by studio musicians Travis Switzer (Dallas Smith), Chad Melchert (Gord Bamford) and Winnipeg’s Joey Landreth. Vezina is fiercely changing things up, channeling her outlaw country vibes.
Previous singles include "Gasoline" (2022) “Almost” (2021) “Danger” (2021) “John Dillinger Type” (May 2020) and “Walk Away” (2019) as heard on SiriusXM Canada’s Indigiverse, CBC Country and North Americana channel. #dontsettle is an introduction to Vezina’s feistiness and strength.
She is a natural on stage, she’s an act you want to catch live. Vezina says “I think it’s really important to connect to your audience and have fun on stage. people feel your energy and want to have a good time when they come out. No matter the size of the venue, I always want my audience leaving my show having had a great experience.” Brandi and her band enjoy performing together and you can feel it when you watch them.
#dontsettle is the debut album of singer/songwriter Brandi Vezina (2021). Vezina says, “These are pages from my journal, it’s personal and parts of my story. I hope they feel my sincerity and vulnerability,” Vezina says.
In 2022, she was nominated for 5 Manitoba Country Music Association Female Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, Fans Choice, Emerging Artist and NCI FM Indigenous Country Music.

Vezina was nominated for a Summer Solstice Indigenous Music Award in the Metis Artist of the Year Category and Manitoba Country Music Association NCI FM Indigenous Country Music Award in 2021.
“Danger” has a powerful message combined with pop and country elements as Vezina was inspired to write about Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG2S) throughout Turtle Island (North America). “It’s the first song I wrote for my forthcoming EP, #dontsettle (2021) after the lyrics ‘Danger, avoid this my girl, it’ll destroy your world’, came to me in a dream,” recalls Vezina. “I’m proud of it because it’s a warning for my own women and I included a traditional drum at the end of the song to honour MMIW2S.”
