Keith Dyck
"Sing'n the Spirit"

From the album Between Amazing Grace and a Real Good Time

Featured track, available from May 9 to May 17

Keith Dyck has long been a force in Manitoba's folk scene, influencing countless songwriters over years. Last month, the singer/songwriter released his latest recording, Between Amazing Grace and a Real Good Time, featuring a slew of musical guests including Ruth Moody, Leonard Podolak (The Duhks, Dry Bones), Romi Mayes, and Jason Nowicki. While you're listening to this week's featured download, "Sing'n the Spirit", you can read more about his story at CBC Scene and Metro. You can also catch him live at the Bella Vista on May 24 and 25. But before that, Dyck will be one of many local artists lending a helping hand to another hometown legend, Hillbilly Burlesque's Angel Calnek, who is healing after major brain surgery. Over a dozen Manitoba artists will also take part, including Dan Frechette, Daniel ROA, Keri Latimer, Mira Black, Nicky MehtaSol James, Don Benedictson, Lloyd Peterson, and many more. The benefit concert, "Angel's Song", takes place May 15 at the Park Theatre. Click here for show details.
