Dirty Catfish Brass Band
"Brass Riot"

From the album Brass Riot

Featured track, available from June 19 to June 27

The Dirty Catfish Brass Band is bringing the Bayou to Winnipeg and unleashing Brass Riot, its debut album. Recorded at the new Paintbox Recording with Lloyd Peterson, the nine-song recording features six original compositions, two traditional second-line parade standards, and a little tribute to Stompin' Tom. Known for its explosive live show, the nine-piece outfit helped kick off the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival last week. Next up, DCBB will take over the West End Cultural Centre on June 28 for its CD release party, with a little help from opening act Sol James. On the horizon, look for the band at Dauphin's Countryfest, Osborne Street Fest, and the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. This week's featured tune is the title-track off Brass Riot. Download it and keep your ears open for Dirty Catfish Brass Band.
