From the album Arun Chaturvedi
Featured track, available from October 7 to October 14
Bluebird North is back at the Park Theatre on October 20, offering music fans and songwriters the chance to hear songs and stories from four talented and diverse local music creators. Hosted by Curve 94.3's Pamela Roz, the latest edition features artists that are not only established songwriters but also noted record producers: Ismaila Alfa (Magnum K.I.), Chris Burke-Gaffney, Mike Petkau Falk (Les Jupes), and Arun Chaturvedi. The acoustic, interactive showcase is presented once again by the Songwriters Association of Canada.
Chaturvedi's song, "Hurry Home," is our featured download this week in The Loudspeaker. He'll be performing songs from his new self-title solo effort, released September 1, at Bluebird North. You can also catch him opening for Desiree Dorion at her CD release on October 28, also at the Park Theatre. Beyond his solo work, Chaturvedi also produced and co-wrote three albums up for Aboriginal People's Choice Music Awards next month, including Don Amero's Deepening, Dorion's Soul Back Jack, and Darrelyne Bickel's M.I.A. He's also writing and recording new material with singer/songwriter James Struthers.
Tickets to Bluebird North are $15 at the door or $12 for members of the Songwriters Association of Canada and Manitoba Music.
